Stuff Adventists Should Know

The Host

My name is Nick Hausted and I live in Berrien Springs, MI with my wife, Iriann. I’m a small business owner and she’s a student in the Seminary at Andrews University as well as the reason why I ended up in Berrien Springs (and additionally the person who should probably be hosting this podcast).

Why I Started The Podcast

I listen to a lot of podcasts every day and I’ve had an itch for something that connects me with the Seventh-day Adventist church on a macro level while engaging with the Adventist organization on a micro level. In other words, I want to have a relationship with my church but I don’t understand it enough to feel close to it.

With Stuff Adventists Should Know, I’ll be attempting to understand the inner-workings of Adventist tradition, organization, policy, and ecclesiology by engaging with thought-leaders, scholars, pastors, and lay members. You won’t really be hearing a lot from me because I’m figuring it out with you as we go along. Instead, you’ll be hearing from a variety of people representing many spectrums of ideology. My goal is not to interview people I agree with but to listen, understand, and love despite differences and to let compassion and unity thrive in the diversity our church has to offer.

Join me on this journey and maybe we’ll find the Stuff Adventists Should Know together.
